  1. It’s weird. I remember liking this movie on initial viewing but over the last few years, I’ve really developed a strong dislike (nearing hate) of Haggis’ film. I’ve come to appreciate subtlety and Haggis doesn’t seem to have any. I still hope to catch with “In the Valley of Elah” to see if he’s corrected himself but general browsing of reviews suggests I’m in for disappointment.

  2. He is very heavy handed with his approach, and it did take away from the film, but the number one thing I had a problem with in regards to this film is Matt Dillion. I just cant stand him in serious roles. He comes across as fake. Comedic rolls yes, serious roles no.
