  1. I’m kinda glad not ‘everyone’ is giving this 8’s & 9’s … I think it is common for people to over-rate films generally, but even more so cute animated stuffs …

  2. Thanks for piping in Ram-Janne.
I was actually pleasantly surprised with this film. I really don’t normal like animated children’s fare, but there was something about the trailers for Wall-e that made me get to the theater. I believe it might be the first animated film I have seen in a cinema, since the re-release of the Jungle book. (I did see Persepolis, but that not targeted towards kids).

  3. While I enjoyed WALL-E I didn’t find it exceptional,either.

  4. Everything that took place on the ruins of Earth was really good… the spaceship stuff…not nearly as interesting for me.

  5. I guess I’ll just go ahead and say: I loved this movie. You all are welcome to not like it so much. But don’t call it a kids movie.

It’s a Pixar movie, of the very best kind, which means its for all ages. All ages. Do you think the kids got the references to 2001? The similarities to Blade Runner? The sheer joyful awesomeness that is Fred Willard?

Sure, children will enjoy this movie. Children will enjoy Star Wars too. Neither of them are kids movies.

Ok, Star Wars is pretty much a kids movie. But still.

  6. Welcome G,

I am not a rabid pixar fan. I just don’t get the whole big deal. I will still refer to it as a kid’s movie, as If it wasn’t targeted towards children on a certain level it would never have been made. How many films target towards a adult market ever get a G rating. Plus I am already seeing the inevitable cheap gimmicky toys creeping into my two year old nephews toy collection. Talk about saying one thing in a film, and practicing something else in reality. Yaa Consumerism.

I will give it to companies like pixar, and others, that they are including more things for an adult audience to sink their teeth into. Its good business strategy on their part. Would you rather take your kids to Wall-E or the newest sponge bob, or veggie tale movie. I know which I would choose.

There were only ever two Star Wars films ever made. the story ended with Solo forever frozen in carbonite. Yes selective memory helps. Death to Ewoks, Death to Jar Jar, and what the heck…Death to Smootchie!

    Thanks for stopping by
