leeny’s notes #07 - FREE MOVIE PASSES
It’s been a while since I did a update on the state of the haiku blog. Everything is running surprisingly good at the moment, but I will be tempting fate in the near future with an upgrade to Wordpress 2.6. Last time I did a major update a few little things needed sorted out, but nothing major. Here’s hoping the next upgrade will go as smoothly.
So a few things are going on in the immediate future. The first being, a press screening for the film Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer is taking place Wednesday morning. A representative of Jigsaw Communications has very generously given 353 Review three sets of advance screening passes for Jack Brooks (more farther down the page). In addition to the passes, they are also setting up an email interview with Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger). So stay tuned for that in the future.
My review for Jack Brooks will also be a bit of a milestone. It will be my 200th review done in a Haiku format. When I started this site, I had a goal of doing at least 365 reviews in a year. I am on track to making that goal, and even exceed it. Yaa me!
Some of my readers may have heard that I was attempting a 48hours movie marathon on the August long weekend to raise money for my favorite charity. Well stuff happens, and I have been asked to not do the marathon as a fundraiser. The concerns of the charity were valid (if perhaps a little weak), so I am no longer going to be doing the fundraiser. I will still be attempting the 48 hours of madness… Just, now I get to pick the films! It will still be live blogged, and most likely web cam enabled (depending on the spotty internet connection).
But enough of all that stuff.. You’ve read through my blatherings for one reason only.
FREE SWAG
353Review.com is giving away three sets of Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer movie passes. This is for the July 24th 7pm advance screening at Tinseltown in Vancouver B.C.. If you are available that night and want to get your dirty little mitts on one of these passes, simply email me HaikuGirl the answer to this insanely difficult question.
Name a character Robert Englund has played in a film other than Freddy Krueger?
*** UPDATE: The tickets are good for the Empire Granville 7 theatre, not Tinsel town!
Thanks to all my regular readers and commenter’s. You make my efforts seem only mildly tedious =D
