VIFF 2008 - Have Tickets, Will Sit!
Well the dirty deed has been done. I have purchased my tickets for the upcoming Vancouver Film Festival.
This year the haul totals 24 at this moment. There are a few more films I wouldn’t mind seeing, but am worried that I will burn out if I get over zealous.
This is the good news, the bad news…
TAD is officially a NO-GO this year.
I started to do the budgeting, and even though I had saved a nice chunk of change, the amount left over was just gonna be to big of a bill to rely on credit. I knew it was doomed, when I started to remove essentials like beer from the budget. Sigh… I have been so good at reducing my debt, and a debt free future is in the not so distance future. Next year, I will attend TAD if it means I have to start knocking over convenience stores.

Nice list of films - there’s a few on there which I’m not seeing (mostly due to scheduling) so, once again, we should have a nice cross over.
Starting to get excited!
I was freaking out last night when I was making this post. I didn’t realise that two of my film choices have the same name as other films at the festival. There are two “After School” films, and I believe there is a Sparrow & Sparrows. Luckily I did buy the right tickets.
Now that the extreme belt tightening from the TAD thing is done, I feel so much more relaxed about VIFF this year. I only hope I get my phone intime for the event, as I want to download Dexter season2 onto it, so I have something to watch between showings.
I’m so sorry to hear that you won’t be coming to TAD this year, but I totally understand and I’m sure it will be lots of fun next year for ya!
Gotta say - that is a rockin’ line up of films and I’m so jealous you will be seeing Sparrow!
Let the Right One In is a TAD crossover so you are getting that one in too - yay!

I was so looking forward to TAD this year. Not just for the films, I was looking forward to meeting all the online film people I read, and catching up with old friends that moved to the big smoke.
